The erratic fidgeting of insects on the riverbank after a fresh, warm rain. The stillness of the water's surface on a windless summer afternoon. Thoughts considered but never completed, too fleeting to reach maturity. Small indecisions roiling beneath consciousness, nearly cancelling one another and leaving only the static of discomfort. Grooves of thought visited and revisited, not for their compelling nature but for their warmth and familiarity.
